Body Piercing

Last night, on a whim, I took out my belly button ring...for good.  (Or at least I think for good?)

It had been a long time coming.  When we were dating, I told Nate I'd do it when we got married...and definitely before we had a baby.  On our honeymoon he reminded me of this, but I quickly changed the subject since this was probably the first (and only) time I'd be as skinny as when I got the piercing done at age 16. But last night, I just went for it.

My mom actually took me to get it peirced, after much pleading on my part of course.  It was all the rage back then!  And I'll never forget the look on her face when we arrived at parlor.  Let's just say neither of us knew there were so many "interesting" body parts one could pierce!!

Removing it was definitely less memorable then getting it done.  To be honest, I kind of forgot it was even there!  But I do think seeing my bare belly sans the sparky little gem will take a little gettting used to.  I did have it for 10 years...(wow, 10 years?!)

I'm curious, did you get your belly button or any other body part pierced as a teenager?  Do you still wear it?  Do you ever regret getting it done?

And how old it too old to still have it in?!

  1. I have my hip pierced with a surface piercing. I even kept it through pregnancy when everyone tried to tell me it would get pushed out. I've had it for about 2 or 3 years but also wonder how old is too old? I love it, though...

My nose has been pierced for 5 years and I have contemplated that one a lot now that I have a baby... I love it, though! Decisions....
